PRIVACY POLICY – MYNEWS MALAYSIA APP

This Mobile Application Program (The “myNEWS Malaysia App”) is developed and maintained by Yoren information technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. We are committed to safeguarding the user’s (“User”, “you” “your”) privacy and ensuring that your personal data is protected. We therefore make sure that our policies and practices in relation to personal data comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (the “Act”) under the laws of Malaysia.

Privacy Policy

This myNEWS privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how we use and disclose personal information of customers collected through our Mobile Application and online services, including myNEWS Malaysia App, and other myNEWS owned or operated websites and online services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Sites”), through our programmes and in our physical myNEWS stores. This Policy does not apply to websites and services that display or link to different privacy statements. Websites and services co-branded with other partners may display or link to a joint privacy statement or separate privacy statements of our partners in addition to our Policy. By accessing the Mobile Application or utilising the Services, you hereby voluntarily consent to the use and collection of your information, including your personal information, personal preferences, any information of others provided by you, in the manner described in this Policy. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you authorise myNEWS to transmit your information outside Malaysia in the manner and for the purposes described in this Policy.

Please note that this Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time by posting the updated version here on the Sites. You are advised to check it on a regular basis.

Personal Data Collected

We may automatically collect online use information when you use our Mobile Application. This information may include information about your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utitlizing our App, your access times, the website that referred you to us, the Web pages you request, and the date and time of those requests. Our collection of online use information may involve the use of cookies. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your device internal memory. In order to enable you to choose the picture in your mobile phone as your avatar, we will apply for storage permission from you. To help you locate the store closest to your location, we will request location information access from you. To provide page display and search results that better meet your requirements, we will collect software and hardware characteristic information such as your device model, operating system version, device Settings, unique device identifier (including IDFV, OAID, IMEI, MEID, and IMSI), and MAC address. The above permissions and information will only be obtained with your consent.

In addition, myNEWS Malaysia App uses Aurora SDK service to provide push message function. In order to successfully realize this function, you need to authorize Aurora push to obtain your device information (IMEI, IDFA, Android ID, MAC, oaid, IMSI, UAID and other related information), application information (application crash information, notification switch status, APP application installation list and other related information, APP application page information, APP function event related information) Equipment parameters and system information (equipment type, equipment model, operating system and hardware related information), network information (IP address, WiFi information, base station information and other related information). This Mobile Application does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collection information and to improve their services. You may refuse to accept Cookies (by modifying the relevant Internet options or browsing preferences of your computer system), but if you do so you may not be able to utilize or activate certain available functions of our Service.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:-

• To facilitate our Service;
• To provide the Service on our behalf;
• To perform Service-related services; or
• To assist us in analysing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Types of Personally Information Collected

At times, you may be asked to provide your personally information (“Personal Data”) in order to enjoy the service we offer, but not limited to, including your name, gender, birth of date, age, ethnic status, marital status, income level, mobile phone number, home address, office address, email address, etc.

We may also collect information about you or others as you provided such as:

• Your username, password.
• If you buy goods at myNEWS.com outlets or through our programs or otherwise – what you buy, where you buy, how frequently you buy, rewards you earn, and rewards you redeem.
• If you register any myNEWS Card – the card number, card transactions, including activating the myNEWS Card, loading value to the myNEWS Card, redeeming any value, any rewards, coupons, balance transfer, balance enquiries.
• If you use our mobile applications – information such as your device ID, your location and stores near you and visited by you may be collected.
• If you take a survey or interact with us in various other ways – demographic information, your comments, feedback, questions or suggestions, and information about subjects that may interest you.
• Specific purposes for which your Personal Data may be used are set out in our Personal Information Collection Statement under section 6 below, including the use of Personal Data for direct marketing.

Security

myNEWS takes reasonable steps to maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the personal data you provide to us against accidental, unlawful or unauthorised destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use and other unlawful forms of processing. Personal data you provide to us is secured with restricted access by authorized personnel only.

While we take these reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal information and information of others that you provided, no system or transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

The myNEWS Mobile Application may contain hyperlinks to other websites provided by third parties. We do not control these third party websites or any of the content contained on those websites. Once you have left Mobile Appplication, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement for the website you visit.

What is the Purpose of the Collection of Personal Data?

As a myNEWS Member, it may be necessary for you to provide us with your Personal Data when you use our Mobile Application. If your Personal Data is incomplete or incorrect, we may not be able to provide or continue to provide the Sites to you.

We shall keep your Personal Data confidential at all times. Our policies and practices with respect to the collection, use, retention, disclosure, transfer, security and access of Personal Data will be in accordance with the laws of Malaysia and are as set out in this Policy.

You agree that all the Personal Data provided by you to us may be used and retained by us for the following purposes and for other purposes as may be agreed between you and us or required by law from time to time:

• providing the Product and Services “Services”;
• analysing, verifying and / or checking your credit, payment and / or status in relation to the provision of the Services;
• enabling the daily operation of your account and / or the collection of amounts outstanding in your account in relation to the Services;
• carrying out data sorting and analysis to enable us to better understand your characteristics and buying behaviour and to provide other services better tailored to your needs, and to assist us in selecting goods and services that are likely to be of interest to you;
• providing you with regular communications from us with details of the Services and its benefits;
• the normal management, operation and maintenance of the performance of the Services;
• research for service improvement and designing new, or improving existing, Services provided by us, our subsidiaries or our affiliates to you;
• investigation of complaints, and suspected suspicious transactions;
• prevention or detection of crime;
• disclosure as required by law;
• aggregated behavioural analysis;
• communicate with you about our brands, products, events or other promotional purposes, including co-branded offers and affiliate and partner offers in relation to our products and services.

We would also like to use your Personal Data (including your name, mobile phone number, address and email address and other information provided to us when you register) for direct marketing to you in relation to:

1. offers and promotions from us;

2. other offers and promotions from the third party merchants that we cooperate with to provide benefits to our customers in relation to the following types of products or services:

   • Retail Goods or Services;
   • Financial, insurance, banking and credit cards;
   • Transportation, travel and accommodation;
   • Sports, leisure, recreation and entertainment;
   • Telecommunications products and services;
   • E-commerce (including trading and payment platforms and online auctions)

Please note that we cannot so use your Personal Data unless we have received your consent.

Do We Share and Disclose Your Personal Data?

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside Malaysia. By submitting your information and accessing the Mobile Application, you consent and agree to such transfers.

myNEWS shares your personal information or information of others that you provided in limited ways.

• We may share personal information about you with others with your consent.
• We may share information with our parent company, myNEWS Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries and licensees and other affiliated companies.
• We may disclose specific information (i) upon lawful request, in response to legal process, and when required to comply with laws, (ii) to enforce our agreements, with you, our corporate policies, and terms of use relating to your use of myNEWS products and services through the Sites or the Services, or (iii) to protect the rights, property or safety of myNEWS and affiliates, myNEWS Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries and licensees, our employees, agents, customers, and others but only when it is reasonable to do so.
• In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets or any other situation involving the transfer of some or all of our business assets, myNEWS may disclose customers statistics to those involved in the negotiation or personal information after the transfer.

We may also share aggregated or anonymized information that does not directly identify you.

Your Rights

myNEWS offers choices for you to request to access, update or change your personal information and how we communicate with you. However, myNEWS reserves the right to deny your request for access or to request for further validation prior to allowing you access. Here are some of the ways you can request changes:

1. check whether we hold any of your Personal Data;
2. access your Personal Data held by us;
3. Log in to your myNEWS App Account, if you have one, and visit the My Profile section to manage your contact information preferences and to update your personal information.
4. ascertain our policies and practices (from time to time) in relation to Personal Data;
5. Users wo wish to no longer receive our direct marketing materials may uncheck yourself on ‘I would like to receive information from myNEWS.com’ under My Profile in order to not receive future messages. If you opt out of receiving promotional communications from us, we may still send you non-promotional communications such as notification about your accounts or our ongoing business relations.
